Coucou,
Yeah, well, once again I’ve found myself in a place I did not think I’d be in, and that is, ‘the world of tiled stoves’, and not only the white ones but the heavily decorated ones. Safe to say, I’m obsessed. This newsletter is a bit random, but so is this obsession, and I got to share it with someone.
I’m mesmerized, waaaow. Medieval Europe’s answer to: “How do we stay warm and sexy?” am I right? A brief search online (*would love to roam the library for books on these, will add to my list over ‘things I’d like to do but never have time to do anymore’) tells me the stoves first debuted in the 14th century around the Alps and Central Europe. I can’t help but wonder: “Who was the creative angel who thought to combine beautiful tiles with heat?” Aaaah, a true aesthetician. Most of these old stoves were inspired by medieval architecture and styles like Gothic and Renaissance.
Now, on to dreaming of my future home(s) with tiled stoves. Ily.
